Within its 16ha of parkland, Auckland Zoo offers a diverse range of venues in unique and visually stunning environments to host functions, and entertain your friends and clients.

Site Visits

Site visits can be arranged by appointment only, on a Tuesday or Thursday during normal business hours of 9:30am and 5:00pm. To arrange a site visit with one of our function specialists, please contact the functions team on (09) 3603800 (ext: 3828)

Weddings

A special place for a special day, the Zoo offers you and your loved one the opportunity to get married in a choice of out-of-this-world locations – from Africa to a tropical rainforest – all with the convenience of being in the heart of Auckland city! Our picturesque gardens, including our Japanese Garden, and the Band Rotunda, also make great wedding locations. Use a marquee or the historic Old Elephant House for your wedding reception. Enjoy the luxury of being close to nature, while having all the comforts you need for you and your guests. We can make your dream wedding a reality.

Picnics and barbeques

Bring your family, friends or workmates for a function at Auckland Zoo. Whether you want a picnic or barbeque for a small or large group, or to enjoy an intimate dinner for two in front of our spectacular viewing window at Sealion & Penguin Shores, we can help.

Seminars and conferences

Imagine the fun and challenge of staff training or team building at a venue where your space extends to 16ha of stunning parkland and wildlife. Bring your own facilitator into this relaxed and stimulating environment. The Zoo's Old Elephant House, and our new state-of-the-art vet centre, the New Zealand Centre for Conservation Medicine (NZCCM) offer great conference venues.

Dinners, parties and more

Create your own theme for a party or product launch. What about a jungle-fever party or 1920s night of White Satin and Swing, a safari breakfast, cocktails at sunset over the African plains, theatre sports in the Lion Shelter, a fashion show or charity auction? Let your imagination run wild.
