Finding your way to Auckland Zoo

Auckland Zoo is located just west of downtown Auckland, next to the beautiful Western Springs Reserve, along with the Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT). Auckland's first electric tram, Number 11, provides a link between both attractions.

Auckland Zoo is well signposted both east and west bound on the Northwestern motorway.

From the City (westbound)

Take the Northwestern motorway and exit at the off-ramp marked Zoo/MOTAT. Turn right over the motorway, left onto Great North Road, and then first right into Motions Road.

From the South (northbound)

From the Southern motorway, take the Helensville/Waitakere exit to join the Northwestern motorway. Exit at the off-ramp marked Zoo/MOTAT. Turn right over the motorway, left onto Great North Road and then first right into Motions Road.

From the West (eastbound)

Take the North Western motorway toward the city and exit at the Point Chevalier off ramp. Travel city bound along Great North Road and turn left into Motions Road.

From the North (southbound)

After crossing the Harbour Bridge, take the third exit marked (16) Port/Helensville.
Follow signs for (16) West/Helensville until you reach exit 6, marked St Lukes Road (Zoo/MOTAT) Turn right over the motorway, left onto Great North Road and on the first right onto Motions Road.
